Let's look at some events that both preceded and followed Charlottesville precipitated by far-right extremists.

Let's leave aside the steady and mounting record over the previous decade.

First, Inauguration Day 2017. I was near this shooting and will be testifying at the trial.

@mtracey 3) Then there was Berkeley that April. It was quite the shit show. The boys from Identity Evropa were there sucker-punching women, and the Rise Above Movement fellas were honing their act before CVille.

@mtracey 4) A couple months later, one of the dudes who made Patriot Prayer rallies fun began harassing a Muslim woman on a Portland MAX train and when three guys intervened, he stabbed them all, two fatally.

@mtracey 5) At his arraignment, he was crying the favorite battle cry of right-wing provocateurs and faux-progressive beard strokers: "Free speech!"

@mtracey 6) The next week, Patriot Prayer ignored everyone's pleas and held their planned anti-Muslim/"free speech" rally downtown. Proud Boys and white nationalists were all there along with militiamen. It was a shit show, the first of many on the West Coast.

@mtracey 7) We've also had a string of young white men, gorged on alt-right propaganda, committing mass killings in places like the high school in Santa Fe, Texas.
