Today is 30 days of the Omer: Gevurah Sh’b Hod: Strength and discipline within humility.
Today I am reminded that whatever strengths and talents I have come from discipline, hard work and from my ability to be humble.
To humble oneself requires strength, I say this b/c asking for help is not something that comes easy for me. And most successes in my life have not come easy. I’ve learned that when I have struggled & faced many challenges I have had to stand humbly before another & ask for help.
And when challenges seem like there can be no end I have stood humbly before the Divine and asked for guidance and without fail, I am shown a path that has been lit for me and will guide me.

Today is 25 days of counting the Omer: Netzach Sh’b Netzach, Endurance within Endurance. Netzach/Endurance is that thing in our gut that tells us that we have the power to overcome those obstacles which stand in our way.
These obstacles can sometimes tell us that we are not good enough. I recently learned that Netzach can also imply victory. So today we have victory over our obstacles. We have the strength and will to hold on when we need to the most.
Netzach is our ability to still be here standing tall and strong, we may be a little scarred, we may have a few more wrinkles but we are still here on our journey and getting closer to Sinai.

Today is day 22 of counting the Omer: Chesed sh’b’Netzach. This week we enter into the week of Netzach, a week of endurance, fortitude and ambition. Today is Chesed, love within endurance.
We are holy human beings & many of us have survived trauma, pain, abuse, & we also survive everyday challenges. We have survived because of our ability to love (therapy doesn’t hurt). Healing takes time. Healing takes patience & through it all, we still have the capacity to love.

Today is the ninth day of counting the Omer: Gevurah Sh’b Gevurah: Strength within Strength.
Strength is not just about pure might and the ability to power through. It takes strength to love especially in times of crises, sadness, loss, and grief.
Tell those closest to you that you love them and offer kindness to those who may be in need or who are suffering.
Gevurah is also about discipline. It takes discipline and practice to become strong not just in body but also in mind, and spirit.
When you practice self-care make sure that you are nurturing your whole self your mind, body, and spirit.

I have my issues🤷‍♀️! I always wanted to prove myself & make my family proud(2nd child). A pressure that was just in my head; they were always proud of us. I wanted to grow up to be a doctor or an army officer like my dad. Let's just say I changed my mind! #VoicesIWS @IWS_Network

Boot, who is now a columnist for the @washingtonpost was never a Trump fan
2/ but he did write a column the day after the election in which he argued that a @realDonaldTrump presidency “might not be so bad” and encouraged optimism.

Now, in a new piece for the Post, Boot is prepared to say that, actually, it is that bad.

To start, raising your income is far more important than cutting your spending when growing your wealth. Spending definitely matters, but without sufficient income it is far too difficult to succeed.
\2 Just look at the lowest 20% of income earners. They spend MORE than what they earn for BASIC NECESSITIES. While there are low-income individuals that become millionaires through very low spending, they are the exception, not the rule.
\3 Comparing them to the highest 20% of income earners, you can see how the highest 20% have a lot more room to save. This is why most millionaires are white collar professionals or business owners of some sort. They have high incomes and they don’t overspend.

Competence is knowing what to do in a situation and how to do it. It is not the same as excellence.
Excellence is dependent on other people, like judges, examiners, teachers, assessors, inspectors, auditors. But we can't control these people and whether they think we're excellent or not.
