As a member, do you even know where @USChamber gets its big bucks? Do you even know why @USChamber is one of two worst influences on climate? Have they clued you in, or are you their chump? Don’t be a chump. #ChamberofCarbon
If they haven’t told you, if they just put you out front while they did their real business in back with fossil fuel donors, you have been chumped by the #ChamberofCarbon.

This is exactly right. And why would corporate members of the #ChamberofCarbon not insist on a full and transparent accounting of all the @USChamber’s back-room dealings with the fossil fuel industry?

I wonder what governance and liability issues there are for corporate members who don’t responsibly oversee #ChamberofCarbon, or even inform themselves of its financing secrets. Is it a defense to have been #ChumpedbyDonohue? Question for corporate counsel.

At last, @realDonaldTrump asserts executive privilege. Until now, not one Republican chairman would contest flagrantly phony “non-assertion assertions” of executive privilege. They all just rolled over, every time.
Now, at last, Trump has to assert and defend executive privilege, follow the rules, and answer ultimately in court.
After the assertion, the House Oversight Committee postponed a vote to recommend that the House hold two cabinet secretaries in contempt over the matter.

.@FedSoc grooms candidates and funnels money to judicial campaigns, and selects Trump judges. So-called “nonprofits” like BH Fund get secret money; (@FedSoc’s Leonard Leo raised over $250 million) to install donor-friendly judges.
This ought to be transparent, but donors pay to pick the judges, campaign for them, and instruct them through “amicus” briefs, all in secret. What could possibly go wrong with secret million-dollar donors picking judges? Go get ‘em, Al!

First, where did Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan plan come from? (George Soros, perhaps? Foreign-funded radicals?) No. It came from Albertans. A volunteer panel led by @andrew_leach spoke w 1K residents in-person and heard from 25K+ online. 2/24
The panel also engaged with 350+ stakeholders and met w Aboriginal Peoples in three cities, and received hundreds of detailed submissions from NGOs, industry groups and others. 3/24

 Here's a great graphic showing where carbon emissions come from (top) and where they go. They come from fossil fuels and land use changes (agriculture and deforestation and fires); and they go into the atmosphere and oceans and soil/vegetation. #climate

 These graphs show fossil fuel contributions (bottom left); total national emissions (upper right); & per person emissions (lower right). While most media are only showing the massive Chinese/India emissions, the US is BY FAR the largest carbon polluter, per person. #climate

 Dear Media, to avoid committing media malpractice, if you invite someone on your show to talk about #climate & they say:
"The climate has always changed."

You must immediately say "No, we understand all observed warming is now human caused, overwhelming any natural changes."

You must immediately say:
You're confusing "weather" and "climate." The world as a whole is warming. One cold day in one place doesn't disprove global climate science.

 If they say "The scientists are only in it for the money" you have two choices:

Say either "Scientists get paid far less than fossil fuel lobbyists & climate deniers, & whatever they're paid has no effect on the validity of the science."
Or call me for a "Fuck you" response.

Just returned from Bangkok, where nations made little progress towards finalising the Paris agreement on climate change that aims to limit global temperature rises over the next 80 years.

It was my first @UN #climate change rodeo and there were a few things I wasn't aware of
Under Paris, countries agreed to a fairly detailed set of promises to keep global temperature rises under 2C by 2100.

It was the first time all nations - both developed and developing economies - signed up to the same set of climate rules. But they weren't binding
Parties gave themselves in effect 3 years to come up with a text agreed by everyone, ratified, and translated into national law on a state-by-state basis. The idea is the accord isn't legally binding, but the rulebook it provides could be on a national level
