In a libertarian dystopia, every individual is responsible for themselves. Employers provide compensation for labour and it’s up to individuals to divide that wage into living expenses and savings for future use.
Of course libertarians who most benefit from this scenario (the employers & wealth class) don’t bother to inform the public that removal of worker rights is contingent on this plan working to their benefit.

The system is designed to minimize compensation costs for employers.
We’ve already experienced this libertarian nightmare in Canada. Prior to WW1, federal income taxes were non-existent. Feds made enough through customs and excise duties to perform their role adequately: National security and facilitation of trade.

Imagine zero income tax. That means there were no federal services or programs. You were on your own. All expenses were an individual’s personal burden. There was no Employment Insurance or Canada Pension Plan.
The social safety net consisted of the financial resources in your immediate family and extended relatives. The indigent and profoundly poor relied upon Religious Institutions and the poor houses and orphanages they ran, and exchanged services for saving the soul. Or they died.
Provinces were restricted to collect income and property tax from citizens, but offered little in return. Responsible for Education, Health, Social Welfare and local matters, income taxes were minimal, mostly property taxes were collected.
Wage earners and farmers paid minimal taxes, but everything they purchased was their responsibility. Most services were restricted to the wealthy only.

This is Libertarian free market economy.

It was imported by the ruling class from Europe when they came to North America.
So often I see tweets claiming the Cons want to return to the 1950’s. Not true. The 1950’s were the start of the social democracy golden age. After two world wars bookending the Great Depression, much of the harsh realities of a libertarian society were too much to bear.
The beginnings of the civil rights movement, women’s rights, and furthering hard won labour standards; all were established in the years following WW2.

Cons want to return to 1867 for a do over.
Feds began taxing income and corporations in the 1940’s, during the war. Provinces temporarily surrendered the responsibility for personal & corporate taxes. However, succeeding political moves made it a permanent feature, with a grant returned to provinces from the feds.
It wasn’t until 1962 that provinces were allowed to collect their own taxes.

Cons want to return to the original Libertarian economy of the 19th century. When robber barons and monopolies ruled the day.

Weak Andy is weak because a strong federal leader isn’t required.
Returning Canadian society to libertarian order doesn’t require federal strong leader, just strong provincial leaders able to facilitate the removal of social safety nets, publicly funded education & healthcare, human rights & remove regulations to create free markets.
That’s Ford, Kenney, Moe, Pallister.

If you think Ford is done cutting, think again. Kenney is yet to get started. They’ll all remain moderate libertarian until Scheer wins a majority. That’s when they will have the required elements to attack the Constitution & Charter.
This is the plan of Cons. Restore patriarchy, when men ruled, women knew their place, LGBTQ was unthinkable, taxes were low, free markets ruled, services were for the wealthy, & the rest laboured endlessly to barely subsist. And being a POC or Aboriginal meant separate washrooms.
Now look at the public offering of Con politicians. Their promises are aimed at those who support & want this plan to be actualized, not the general population. They still have to get Scheer elected, so they use a lot of dog whistles, but if you know the plan, it’s clear as day.
Andrew Scheer
Doug Ford
Jason Kenney
Scott Moe
Brian Pallister
And for a visual reminder of life in Canada before WW1
