/ We had to check this tweet was real when we saw the screenshot. James Wright, who has written almost 1,000 articles for The Canary, appears to believe the Equality & Human Rights Commission is controlled by “pro-Israel political agents”. #SFFN

/ James Wright has form. He defended Chris Williamson after the MP’s suspension from the Labour Party for saying that the party had been “too apologetic” for antisemitism; and accused a Jewish MP of having ulterior motives for her complaints about antisemitism. #SFFN
/ As we’ve previously tweeted, Wright wrote for The Canary that there was “little media outrage” of Roger Scruton’s racist comments & sacking. In fact, it was covered by almost every major media outlet. #SFFN

/ Wright was once mocked by @charltonbrooker after The Canary writer suggested that Brooker’s 2016 Wipe programme had an anti-Corbyn agenda & didn’t spend enough time criticising Hillary Clinton. #SFFN

/ Other conspiracy theories promoted by Wright on The Canary are less funny. In several articles, Wright has attempted to defend Bashar Al-Assad from blame for the war crime he committed in Douma, killing at least 50 Syrians. #SFFN
/ In doing so, Wright & The Canary accused the White Helmets of being “linked to the anti-Assad opposition” and therefore not trustworthy when it comes to reporting attacks. The White Helmets are heroic volunteers who save innocent victims of war. #SFFN
/ Wright wrote an article for The Canary to promote Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s denial of Assad’s war crimes. Carlson is a far-right racist misogynist who called Iraqis “semi-literate primitive monkeys” & women “like dogs”: buzzfeednews.com/article/briann… #SFFN
/ James Wright writes articles for The Canary denying Russian responsibility for the Salisbury attack, including one linking to & extensively quoting a blog by Craig Murray, in which he suggested Israel could be to blame instead. #SFFN
/ James Wright also attempts to dismiss the fact that Russia interfered in the US Presidential 2016 election in his Canary articles. As The Guardian’s @rafaelbehr said, “If they aren’t getting Kremlin money it can only be because they haven’t asked.” #SFFN
/ There is something you can do to stop this! Please tweet at companies advertising on The Canary & other fake news websites and (politely!) ask them to stop. If enough of us act, we can defeat this damaging fake news. #SFFN
