Jerry Nadler wanted this fake fight w/ Bill Barr over the grand jury material, which he knew couldn't be released even via subpoena, and Robert "The Unquestionable Patriot" Mueller III gave it to them, like he gave them that "presser" in exchange for hiding like a coward.
P.S. A "press conference" entails taking questions. Both James Comey and Robert Mueller made Royal Proclamations from atop the dirty, filthy, less-well born masses. There's a difference.
