Also seems totally out of it.
Why are his pants 3 inches too long and, er, so unflatteringly cut at the groin? He looks like someone dressed him for a curt appearance, or the wake of a friend he’s too senile to really remember.

YouTube is probably the most irresponsible of all the social media platforms with the potential to do the most widespread damage.

I wish I could tell you you could make this a safe space for your kids. But they are reckless, and arrogant, and only about growth.
If you work for a social media platform and you're not spending all day, every day, fighting for real reform, wtf are you doing?

So if I'm following this correctly, the Australian military has just raided Australia's leading broadcaster to try and seize files related to an expose about the military conducting unlawful killings in Afghanistan?

That is extremely fucked up.
Ok so it's Australia's FBI equivalent doing the raiding on behalf of the military I'm told. Anyway, not good.
The attack on press freedom is everywhere. I don't know if co-publishing with a news org in US (where we do, still, have the 1st Amendment) would have helped but...

Someone should set up a scorecard for various companies to fill in how long it takes them to get name changes processed, for trans people and the like (some people just change their name BECAUSE).
and including what processes they made you go through.
like can you go on their site and just click the "EDIT" button on the name field and 20 seconds later, you're done?
Do you have to call them? go in-store? both? do you have to send them certified mail? does it take a long time?
will they refuse to sell you a phone until you can show up with a valid ID in your old name despite having changed your name on their site 6 years ago?
NOT THAT I'M MENTIONING ANY SPECIFIC PHONE COMPANIES HERE...

This post is pretty bizarre, but it manages to hit on so many false beliefs that I've seen hurt junior data scientists that it deserves some explicit corrections:

(1) The notion that R is well-suited to "building web applications" seems totally out of left field. I don't feel like most R loyalists think this is a good idea, but it's worth calling out that no normal company will be glad you wrote your entire web app in R.
(2) It is true that Python had some issues historically with the 2-to-3 transition, but it's not such a big deal these days. On the flip side, I have found interesting R code that doesn't run in modern R interpreters because of changes in core operations (e.g. assignment syntax).

Looks like the hammer is going to fall, and the caliber of LAW ENFORCEMENT against the Silicon Valley info monopoly will be FTC, not FEC. Trump's people have presumably been working this since the days of Bannon and the Brietbart posts on GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon).
The coordinated strike against Alex @RealAlexJones is beautiful evidence - there is no way they can get out of it. Even if it's "me-too" dog-piling on Jones, the fact is, THAT is a form of tacit conspiracy, where one crook gets a hit in, and the others follow. EVIL CHUMPS.
Silicon Valley has gotten away with conspiracy for far too long by being TACIT and OFF PAPER, rather than stupidly documented. I mean - hey - these crooks aren't stupid. They're arrogantly obvious, but they're not stupid.
