Barr on CBS last week: "I personally felt [Mueller] could've reached a decision,” “the opinion says you cannot indict a president while he is in office, but he could've reached a decision as to whether it was criminal activity.”

Compare that to....
what Barr said at his confirmation hearing:“to the extent [Comey] actually announced a decision was wrong...if youre not going to indict someone then you dont stand up there&unload negative information about the person, that’s not the way the Department of Justice does business.”

2.The line that Mueller said, that a sitting President cannot be indicted, is acrid with the stench of impeachment. It’s an obvious toss of the baton to Congress. There is no other way to read it.
3.That's why Mueller today said “The Dept’s...opinion explaining the policy against charging a President makes several important points…[it] says that the Constitution requires a process OTHER than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting President of wrongdoing”

Some of the reaction to this decision seems overblown. It’s not at all a decision on the merits as p2 makes clear. “At this early pleadings stage of the litigation,we do not assess the merits of the plaintiffs’ antitrust claims against Apple,nor do we consider any other defenses”
That’s particularly so because both the majority and the dissent referenced pretty severe class certification and damages problems. Majority at 9-10 even suggested the possibility that “the consumers’ damages would presumably be zero.” And the dissent at 5-6 picked up those its

Let's be clear here, this is what is going on with Barr.
1. As a matter of law, Barr cannot provide Congress with the grand jury information that Democrats just held him in contempt for not turning over to them.
2. Barr can, however, petition the courts to allow release, and the House Democrats have requested he do so. He refused, and this adds to their reasons for the contempt vote. Important to note, he is not required by law to accommodate their request to petition the court.
3. Democrats additionally feel his no-show for their hearing last week adds to their contempt charge. However, they had demanded, against normal order, that he be questioned by two prosecutors. Je did not agree but offered to teach an amicable arrangement.

I wrote this the day #Barr put out his 4 pages. At the time I considered it a "batso crazy conspiracy theory", like for a movie script. Every day which has passed since, has validated it more and more. I don't think Mueller was in on the joke, but it's now clear #Rosenstein was.
QUESTION FOR THE #MEDIA: In what way was #Mueller hindered by the narrow mandate provided by #Rosenstein. What was defined, at the outset or during the investigation, by those above Mueller, as HANDS-OFF.
QUESTION FOR THE #MEDIA: Did #Barr and #Rosenstein shut down #Mueller? Did all the leaks about Mueller wrapping it up come from Barr, Whitaker, Rosenstein, and GOP operatives? Were they a shot across Mueller’s bow?
