These 2 tweets from @Gizmodo writer @thetomzone are undeniably false & defamatory: that @mtracey was fired from TYT & is paid by Fox. But since the object of his lies is someone disliked by the cool kids of Brooklyn digital media, there's zero need to correct or retract 
When a journalist clique so openly and even explicitly stakes an entitlement to lie about people - in the most demonstrable & blatant ways - provided that the person they're lying about is sufficiently disliked, they deserve all the scorn and loss of credibility they get.
If you're a journalist who sanctions or is too afraid to condemn outright lying by your colleagues because the target of the lies is marginalized or disliked by popular cliques, please don't express bafflement or anger that people hold journalists & journalism in contempt.
Right - that's the other point: mocking someone for being poor, having a low salary, having to live with their parents is considered taboo & ugly: for good reason. But in this case, they cheered it because the dislike the person targeted with this derision
Look at the replies to these tweets. They're filled with journalists spewing hatred at Tracey as a means of justifying the lies disseminated about him by @Gizmodo, exactly the point I was making: lies by media outlets are justified if you're hated by the Brooklyn media clique.
