Since the Media Matters & Vox hall monitors whose job is to take pictures of the TV and post distorted out-of-context clips did that to me tonight, here are my full comments on whether Silicon Valley overlords will benevolently police our discourse to protect the marginalized:
Not sure why but this is the part of the above clip that got cut off where I talk about my own experience with online harassment and how it shapes my views of the menacing effects of Silicon Valley speech policing
In this clip, I discuss why Silicon Valley monopolies are granted special legal protections from Congress and how they came to wield censorship power: not because they wanted it, but because it was foisted on them, largely - amazingly - by journalists:
Finally: in this segment I was able to discuss how the Trump administration is severely escalating the Obama administration's attacks on press freedom: by using the Assange case to criminalize journalism and prevent any transparency for security state agencies (CIA/NSA/FBI):
Anyway, the full segment - including the premises I disputed - is here for those interested. If you compare it the extremely selective & misleading clips posted by the Media Matters and Vox hall monitors, you'll see how purposely they distort & mislead
1) Silicon Valley giants are malevolent influences on our politics and care only about profit.

2) Silicon Valley giants will use their censorship powers benevolently, to protect the marginalized.

Will liberals ever realize these 2 premises, which they endorse, are in conflict?
I spent the weekend with radical animal rights activists of @DxEverywhere whose civil disobedience is viewed & classified by the powerful agricultural industry as crime & terrorism. How do you think they'll fare under Silicon Valley censorship rules against inciting lawbreaking?
Liberals are so attached to their fantasy about the goodness of authority that they actually convince themselves that Silicon Valley giants - who they're otherwise willing to malign - are exercising censorship powers in defense of marginalized people against the powerful.
If you don't understand that large corporations like Google (YouTube) and Facebook are always going to side with the richest, most powerful and most influential at the expense of the marginalized, then you literally understand nothing about the world theintercept.com/2017/12/30/fac…
