I’m glad to see people talking about the need to repeal the #HydeAmendment & its effect on low-income folks especially WOC, QTPOC and more.. Lets also acknowledge why it even exists.. There has always been attempts to attack & regulate our bodies. This isn’t new #BeBoldEndHyde
The systems of White supremacy, patriarchy and misogyny have always tried to regulate the bodies of POC. From slavery, forced sterilization of Black & Brown people, and through Hyde, the sexual & Reproductive lives of POC have always been one of attacks, regulation & denial
So as you continue to raise awareness, know that POC have always been leading this fight.. Fighting for autonomous sexual lives free from shame & discrimination has always been the life of POC & low income folks. Center them

Very interesting thread. Is the call to eat less-processed foods elitist?

Let's go back in time a bit. At one time, eating more-processed convenience foods was a sign of an upwardly mobile middle class who didn't have to grow/raise/preserve their own foods.
The folks who did usually lived in more rural areas. Land loss that occurred with increasing large industrial ag & urban/suburban growth coincided with push to see many more-processed foods as "healthy" (DGA) AND increase in income gap.
These more-processed foods (breakfast cereals, packaged meals, juice, etc.) were cheaper substitutes for more expensive sources of nourishment (meat, milk, veggies) & also got crowned with the halo of "health" via DGA & food science that allowed for low-fat, etc. labelling.

Until now, the only SEO space where AMP was kind of "mandatory" was on news: if you want to appear on the "Top stories" box, you kind of need to have your articles to use AMP. You can appear there withouth AMP, but you don't get the same visual benefits #AMP #SEO .
Now Google is bringing "Stories" (like Instagram Stories, Snapchat Stories, etc.) to search results. They just announced it at #ampconf (see ) #AMP #SEO
This means that for certain kind of queries (by now: travel, and later also gaming, movies, tv and fashion) the first result will get another "special box" called "Visual Stories" where you can only appear using not only AMP, but AMP stories #AMP #SEO

So about a million people have asked me about @lesbiantech and the issue re: speakers fees and tickets.

Here's a thread, and prepare yourself for it to be a classic Aubrey Middle Way Response.
First, I do think when possible that events should pay speakers. I also believe that it is absolutely fine for people to agree to speak for no payment (I do this often, and yes I get the privilege I enjoy for being able to do so).
Other things:
-Public speaking is work
-Companies and individuals get value from being on stage and/or sponsoring events (this includes the value to individual employees who get to attend / participate)

I have spoken at LWT SF multiple times, and Atlassian has covered my tix.

Alright ayo it's @Claystanman here and for #BlackHistoryMonth we're thinking it'll be a good idea to try and spread knowledge of the history of Black American/African solidarity with and black folks' presence in #SouthAsian resistance.
Bayard Rustin, a gay black man who worked in movements for civil rights, socialism, and gay rights (later known as one of MLK's foremost organizers) organized the Free India Committee & was often arrested for protesting against British colonialism in Africa and India in the 40s.
Bayard's work in supporting the Indian independence movement was reflective of his internationalist approach.

He also participated in the March for Survival at the Thai-Cambodian border in 1980, and in 1982 founded the National Emergency Coalition for Haitian Rights.
