Today marks the 75th Anniversary of the storming of the beaches at #Normandy. It is our duty & privilege to honor the lives sacrificed on that day.

There’s also a myth that no Black men participated on #DDay and that is not true.

Meet 90-year old Joann Woodson. She's on a mission to share the truth about the participation of Black men on #DDay.

Her late husband, Waverly Woodson, was one of the few Black soldiers known to have served on Omaha Beach. #DDay75
Waverly Woodson, a 21-year-old medic from Philadelphia, treated at least 200 injured men on #DDay, despite being injured himself. He was with the lone African-American combat unit to fight on D-Day. #DDay75 #DDay75thAnniversary

He also saved four men from drowning, pulling them from the waves & administering CPR after their guide rope broke on the way ashore.

Woodson never received the #MedalofHonor, the highest U.S. military decoration given to those who display extraordinary valor in action. #DDay75

A veterans’ sacrifice never expires. It's important to take some time today to reflect on the bravery of those who fought & the lives that were sacrificed on the “Longest Day”, including Waverly Woodson, Johnnie Jones Sr., and every African American who participated on #DDay.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of one of the wildest slugfests in @MLB history, as the @Phillies and @Cubs combined 11 HR and 50 hits, as the Phillies beat the Cubs 23-22 in 10 innings on May 17, 1979. Obviously, the wind was blowing out at Wrigley Field that day.
In that epic contest, Dave Kingman hit 3 HR that went about 1400 feet combined, Mike Schmidt hit 2 HR, the first and last, which turned out to be the game winner, Bill Buckner had a game-high 7 RBI, 4 coming on a grand slam, & Larry Bowa had a game-high 5 hits (in EIGHT at-bats).
Phillies closer Tug McGraw entered that game in the FIFTH inning with his team up 21-9, and got a grand total of TWO outs, not even escaping the fifth inning. And the pitchers that batted in the first inning, one of which was RELIEF pitcher Donnie Moore, had a homer & a triple.

Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the attempted murder of my beautiful daughter. She was 18 at the time. Her boyfriend stamped on her face 17 times.
I will never forgive him.
She lost 8 teeth. The police recovered them from underneath a car and brought them to the hospital in pots. It was tooth and root intact. 8 teeth. She’s on a waiting list for a bone graft, hip to mouth, so they can do dental implants.
These teeth. Pretty much everyone who is working to replace them asks if she had braces or whitening. Nope, she grew perfect teeth with no outside help.

I do not enjoy buying steradent for someone so young.

Today marks the 76th anniversary of the death of Sophie Scholl. An anti-Nazi political activist, she was convicted of high treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the LMU with her brother, Hans. As a result, they were both executed by guillotine.
LMU = University of Munich.
The White Rose was a non-violent, intellectual resistance group in the Third Reich led by a group of students and a professor at the University of Munich. The group conducted an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign that called for active opposition to the Nazi party regime.

Today marks my 7th anniversary since I first walked through the doors at Wizards and began doing work on Magic. It's been a crazy seven years with all sorts of highs and lows.
Yesterday was our company All Hands meeting and it was a great day. A few highlights:
1. We got a very exciting look at what next year holds for Wizards. I had good visibility into Magic, but there were still some surprises, and also I got a look at what is coming for D&D which was SUPER exciting as well. #wotcstaff
