I'm having dinner with my family in Melbourne, we've been talking politics all tonight.

A man just approached our table and called us "obnoxious, conservative c*nts".

I actually have no words. What gives these people the impression that this behaviour is okay?

Appalled.

I mean, at least nobody dumped a milkshake on us. 😂😂😂

But really - imagine thinking it's okay to verbally abuse someone while they're eating a meal, simply because you think differently to them.

I thought Aussies were better than this kind of gross behaviour.

I think the thing that upsets me so much is that I told my family half way through our meal to keep it down so we DIDN'T draw attention to ourselves as conservatives in this overly liberal city.

Doesn't that say something about the state of things?

Okay - the only funny thing about this is that there's a young guy at the table behind us.

He watched everything go down, shrugged and said, "well. At least this isn't Adelaide"
