In Brazil, as in the United States, judges are required to be impartial and neutral, and are barred from secretly collaborating with one side in a case.

This apparently did not happen in the case of the apparent election-rigging-geared Operation Car Wash in Brazil.
This series of articles on the corruption of Brazil’s judicial system (apparently geared to disempower a front-running political competitor to the current President) is a must read.

It reeks of Deep State style political interference.

We have to be aware of likely agendas of media.

The Drudge Report is descibed as a gossip column. (IMO a lot of news media has degenerated into gossip column status), but Drudge is famous/infamous for breaking the Monica Lewinsky scandal - so not in the likely Clinton PR camp 😉
The Democratic Party PR guys evidently check the Drudge site dozens of times a day (likely looking for fires that need putting out).

Having a poll that shows real Dem populists might be liked will likely result in a bullseye being put on Gabbard and Yang’s backs by Dem oligarchy

This is the kind of thing that caused Brexit, resulted in Trump getting in (despite the efforts by powerful Deep Staters against him).

It explains how the far right are gaining power in Europe.
They are pretending to be populist and against it.
I am not against needs based immigration, and allowing set numbers of carefully vetted refugees in. I am strongly against chain migration other than spouses and children (a policy which is demonstrably changing the cultural landscape of countries).
But when you have illegal immigrants getting the right to health care, education, housing, social services (and even the right to vote) - you can expect those who are citizens to object - no matter how much Big Brither globalist technocrats forbid it as a form of Thought Crime.

We as a nation (including our regular & special forces, who for the most part are extremely heroic, very courageous, and highly commendable) mustn’t copy barbaric practices and take revenge against innocent people.

We as a society are better than barbarians

Don’t blame them all
It’s arguably one thing to fire to kill, due to an adrenalin rush of fear (albeit I cannot see how fleeing women and children were seen as threatening).

It’s quite another matter, if there was a motive of revenge.
Either way, there are likely at least two sides to the tragic story - of how this tragedy happened.

Covering things up never makes things better. It only makes them look worse. Truth always seeks the light.

The Inspector General needs full access - no barriers or excuses.

It seems an independent auditor came to Abu Salim today looking into UN activities. The guards told detainees in advance not to mention that they haven't been fed for months (some of their families are sending them money to buy food with instead, which guards take a cut from).
Messages today from Qasr bin Ghashir dc, southern Tripoli, today, where they’re asking for evacuation & any organisation that can help them.
Sorry for my confusion, the teenager above was being held in Qasr bin Ghashir, but has now been moved to the UNHCR facility in Tripoli for evacuation. He's asking for help for those he left behind.

If I know something is associated with a certain thing or viewpoint, and I do not hold that viewpoint, I do not wear that item. This is not a controversial understanding.

During last night's address, @realDonaldTrump said: "In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings." These numbers need context:
@realDonaldTrump It's true, during the last two years, ICE officials arrested 266,000 people. But, ICE reports note that each arrest "may represent multiple criminal charges and convictions." A single person could have committed multiple crimes.
@realDonaldTrump The Pew Research Center made the same point: "The total number of charges and convictions is greater than the total number of arrestees," the center noted in a February 2018 report.
