There are numerous reasons why right-wing extremists dominate U.S. politics. It goes back to the white supremacist ideology on which this nation was built.
The question is how we fight back and assert our rights, our integrity, and our decency.

We must embrace full-throated, unapologetic progressivism, refusing to compromise with bigots, racists, and misogynists.
The reasonable "center" is a myth. The national debate has moved so far right that meeting the GOP halfway is complicity in fascism.

Indeed, meeting the GOP in the "middle" has been disastrous. But it remains the Dem leadership's strategy.

Victory won't come from hitching ourselves to one candidate and hoping for the best. We have to move past fealty to an individual, no matter how charismatic, and rebuild the entire Democratic Party to reflect core progressive values. THAT is how we win against the far right.
