Watching #EdRendell tell #KeithBoykin what black people should think about #JoeBiden is EXACTLY why no one in #Philly listens to Rendell anymore. Boykin is being extremely polite and controlled--more than I would be--but he says that Dems MUST fight for black people.

Rendell just said that Biden has done more for civil rights and to combat racism than anyone else.

My parents, who were Civil Rights workers and co-founded a major civil rights program in the 1960s did more than Biden has ever done for Civil Rights.

Boykin notes black people are not a monolith & says there is a generational divide on Biden. So true. (Boykin is 21yrs younger than Rendell.) The Dem Party is much younger than the GOP in terms of demographics. Boykin says white men are only 29% of America, why cater to them.

Boykin also says that ignoring the needs and concerns of black people and women is a problem for Democrats. Rendell basically ignores that--which is again, the problem of the centrist white male Democrats that Biden and Rendell represent.
