Hey team:

This section of @JayInslee's climate platform is the biggest climate news from the 2020 campaign trail, so far.

And this has been a season of breakthrough announcements.
If you're not paying attention to the interactions of climate risk, risk assessment, insurance, finance, financial oversight, the over-valuation bubbles in unsustainable/ brittle assets, and the risk of a carbon crash—well, then you're not paying attention to the climate crisis.
Some essential context: central banks sound the alarm...

Major central banks are beginning to stress test their large financial institutions for climate vulnerabilities...

The risks to the parts of the economy connected to high-carbon industries is severe...

High-carbon industries themselves are over-valued to the point of collapse...

We have a very narrow window to deflate overvaluations and accelerate climate action to vent those overvaluations in any kind of orderly way.

Otherwise, we're in for either a "disorderly transition" with lots of economic upheaval or a carbon crash.

(A carbon crash being a scenario where delay in climate action continues the inflation of both risks and overvaluation of high-carbon assets, ending in a "rapid repricing" and serious market collapses... as well as a full-blown climate catastrophe.)
These #carbonbubble concerns have played a major, unacknowledged role in global politics in recent years...
