I thought “Never again” meant “Never again to anyone.”
Not “We will make damn sure the Holocaust is Never Again relevant to anyone anywhere - despite actual concentration camps in 2019.”
I was hoping to never again have to make this point, but here we go again.
Thank you @AOC.
Why do we have a @HolocaustMuseum museum if its directors:
1) work to make sure it is not relevant as an eternal lesson to humanity about inhumanity?
2) don’t understand that examples of concentration camps are not limited to Nazi death camps?
3) are not good at history?
Et tu, @AJCongress?
@AOC > AJC.
AJC is the one cheapening the Holocaust by making in jealously proprietary, narrowly provincial, and ahistorically irrelevant.
Shanda, AJC. Shame on you.
4/ This is spot on, @joshchafetz. Shamefully, @NYGovCuomo,
@HolocaustMuseum, @AJCongress, @JCRCNY, you would all reduce “Never Again” to a tautology. If nothing may be compared to the Holocaust ever again, then by definition it can never happen again.
