The Monroe Doctrine says that colonization or interference by external powers in the Americas is a potentially hostile act against the US. We literally rolled out the red carpet for outside actors by preventing friendly nations from helping Venezuela. #DiplomacyIsNotRocketScience
Our human rights restrictions under previous administrations coupled with draconian approaches to hostile nations has created opening for Russia and China. An emboldened Putin doesn't have to fire a shot to expand into new regions.reuters.com/article/us-afr…
Trump's sanctions the urbane US-educated FM @JZarif who did the JCPOA deal with US/EU/ China and did much outreach to the Gulf. Also sanctioned is the democratically elected centrist @HassanRouhani. Trump is punishing the people who worked to build peace in the region.
After Tapeworm John visited Binny in Israel and after the Japan PM meeting/ "limpet mine" incident and the fake tanker attacks in the UAE, , the message is clear. Trump's handlers will not tolerate any diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East.
The problem is that much of the world doesn't give a shit about Trump's sanctions. They are for media effect and although can be crippling, sanctions never "won" anything. People just suck it up and do business with Europe and Asian countries. scmp.com/news/china/dip…
Visiting U.S. sanctioned countries like Syria, Iran, Cuba etc can be quite instructive. There is no Coca Cola, no Chevron, no Levi's. They do have bootleg Rambo movies in Chinese and alas there will never be a Disney Persia Resort. themeparktourist.com/features/20160…
Perhaps the hostility and rudeness is a calculated effort to create a independent nation with no concern for neighbors, global opinions or commerce. Historically treaties and wars require coalitions not unilateral actions. And there is another catch. ft.com/content/3ecaed…
America today is almost completely reliant on imports of critical and mundane items to survive. The US is 100% dependent for over 20 strategic minerals between 50% and 99% dependent for 30 minerals. Not just rare earth. Wait..there is more. instituteforenergyresearch.org/international-…
America is dependent on exports. China, Canada, Mexico and EU, the very nations Trump attacks and insults, buy our products. We sell $2.4 trillion in goods and services and buy $2.9 trillion in a carefully managed free market system. fas.org/sgp/crs/row/R4…
Iran is the world's 46th largest export economy and depends on oil sales, China ($16.9B), India ($10.2B), South Korea ($7.22B), Italy ($3.48B) and Japan ($3.23B) are their biggest customers. KSA and UAE insist they will replace Iran's exports. .reuters.com/article/us-usa…
Iran can shut down UAE and KSA leaving desperate nations to look at the world market for relief. Oh look Venezuela. Now you see the con laid out by two Arab dictatorships to drive up oil prices. And how this could all go very badly, very quickly. bbc.com/news/world-lat…
The Saudi economy nosedived in 2017 because of U.S. shale and lower energy use. Trump and his Arab buddies are trying to get oil above $85 a barrel. without Iran nuking the oil patch in 15 minutes. Almost all in Shia areas...next to Iran. oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-…
Much of the aggression against Iran is this rooted in Iran's potential destruction of the dollar as the main form of currency in the oil trade. And the reoccurring cause of the "Bomb Bomb Iran" Neocon wet dream. archives.globalresearch.ca/articles/CLA41…
