I guess it's time for me to file articles of impeachment against @SCOTUSblog
@SCOTUSblog "The problem with Roberts is he's not doing enough to help the Republican Party" is an unusually on-the-nose take from this close ally to the president.
Really making the subtext text -- "GOP judges" nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate to help Republicans win elections.

I'm finding one reference on Fox News or Fox Business to Ocasio-Cortez before the AP called her primary race. It's a Fox & Friends "Primaries to Watch Today" segment the morning of the primary, and features a Republican pollster saying of Rep. Joe Crowley, "He's gonna win."
Two mentions on Fox on June 26, 2018 (primary day).
Zero references on those networks before primary day.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.

What Democratic leaders have done in the 21st century has NOT WORKED.

Polling and pandering, cowering and caving to a Republican Party bent on extremist domination is a failed strategy.

We are moving toward #Gilead, toward lawlessness, while Dems dither.

ENOUGH.
#Alabama is just the beginning.

We need to elect and empower more lawmakers like @AOC, @ewarren, @IlhanMN ... and we need to step up as our own leaders to fill the vacuum left by a Democratic Party leadership unwilling/unable to stop the rise of right-wing extremism.

“He’s just not worth it” is brilliant messaging.

Setting aside the actual question, this message blows up GOP messaging in advance of 2020.

Pelosi is saying to the GOP, “You want to make this election about defending that pathetic orange sniveling bully? Have fun with that.”
Pelosi goes on to say that “unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan” we shouldn’t go down the road of impeachment.

BIPARTISAN is the key word there.

“Compelling and overwhelming” evidence exists.

But Republicans stand by Trump anyway.

Our Founders anticipated someone like Trump. They never anticipated a full 50% of lawmakers would support that person no matter what.

That reality puts Pelosi and other Dem leaders in a challenging position.

Without some GOP participation, impeachment will be mere theater.
