For all defending Joe as just calling out racial profiling: 1. “Gangbanger” is racially loaded term. 2. Part of a pattern of casually using loaded terms. 3. His point is off. Its not about need to consider someone could be “good.” It’s the need to perceive Black people as people.
Words matter. Language that may be benign or carry no meaning to one person, can be deeply damaging, violent, & traumatic to an entire class of people. The fact that Biden is continuously unable or unwilling to be more thoughtful betrays a surprising lack of compassion.
