2020 PRO-DEMOCRACY RESOURCE THREAD IDEA:

Late night tweeting -- FTW! :)

I don't have time to think of who all I'd like to tag in on this, let alone undertake this myself, so I'm just going to type out a basic idea for now & ask people to share it. Please excuse typos. /1

American voters & Twitter users need a reliable, easy to find, go-to source for the most important "Never Trump" and "Trump/Russia" articles/research done since Trump became a 2016 candidate. /2

We need a MASTER PATRIOT RESOURCE THREAD, clearly divided by topics; thus, a quickly accessible Pinned Tweet--Or--a dedicated Twitter account--Or--an outside webpage that offers a list or catalog of articles/research … /3

... that helps Tweeters find what they need to help other voters get up to speed on the 2016-2020 election/Trump/Russia debacle.

We need torch bearers -- bringing truth and facts.
And torch minders -- gathering & organizing the same.
And folks to pass it all on. :) /4

Btw, I'm not talking about a discussion thread. I'd strongly advise against that. I'd stick to evidence-supported reports/theories rather than mostly conspiracy, even good ones. If based on too many unsubstantiated sources the latter can easily prove more divisive than helpful /5

An introductory tweet could cite any "rules of engagement," like asking folks not to comment or engage trolls. I doubt we want censorship, just simple guidance or requests. /6

Lots of Tweeters have done TONS of rabbit-holing and curated threads. We need them to review their collections and choose their best. Some may wish to spruce up their work, condense, etc. (brevity is good!) to make them more likely to appeal to a broad readership. /7

We need volunteers to submit, organize submissions, and keep some kind of basic order. Once it's going, we'll need everyone to share the love and keep retweeting it. These are the only suggestions I can offer at this point and have no desire to "captain" this. /8

NOTE: This isn't about forming a club, including or excluding, but gathering and making the info easier to find. It will take time to get it started, and would likely be an ongoing project. Ideally, several would volunteer. /9

Also, this wouldn't be like a traditional "editor's" job. Editing other people's work isn't necessary. Nothing would be for sale, and nobody stands to profit except Americans who seek to remove Trump from the WH. /10

The PRIMARY 2020 ELECTION GOAL is to ensure that Trump is NOT re-elected. Since that's most important, we can't get bogged down in party or candidate differences or personal opinions. Winning 2020 will be an even bigger job than what we attempted with the 2018 Midterms. /11

We'll need to keep that PRIMARY GOAL in sight at all times. If we are united in this one objective we'll stand a better chance of convincing people not to vote for Trump, especially those who are squeamish about voting for Democrats, but who will consider it. WE NEED THEM. /12

Again, these are only basic suggestions. Starter stuff. Others may have many better, wonderful ideas for how this could be accomplished, even outside of Twitter, but the time for getting it underway is now. /13

So I'll post this as a pinned tweet here for the time being. People are welcome to add their own ideas, tag in others, volunteer, get agreement & start the project elsewhere, but first, we gotta get this circulating, so please think it over & share? Thank you. :) /14

Afterthought: It is so, SO easy to challenge others who haven't yet tapped into the mountain of facts we have on Trump. If we give them a treasure trove, those facts can do the challenging. Let's not waste energy on fruitless debates/arguments. Let's make our efforts count. 👍

That said, obviously not everyone will bother to read what we share, but once your fact-filled tweets are out in the Twitter-wild, others DO read them and they bring friends. We gotta use what we have and make the most of it.

.@ltilbu .@SMBWhitney.@karolcummins THANK YOU for the suggestions and/or DMs. Since some of you have more experience with this kind of stuff, I encourage everyone to pitch in with the ideas that are crossing your minds so far. This thread is the place for starter discussions.

FYI: I really don't have a hard-set idea of how this could best be done. I think the more we exchange ideas here, the more likely we'll make it happen.

Also understood that people have limited time--myself included--so that's why I don't expect a fast roll out.

Keep in the mind, the hard work has already been done. The reports, articles and compilations have already been published/linked on Twitter, but it's a time-consuming pain to try to find that awesome "Who's really funding and running X's Campaign?" article from 2017.

--Or that really great research that showed how voting Democrats in (and Trump out) was the best way to stop the decaying corruption in progress... ? We've got hundreds, maybe thousands of good resources and VOTERS NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO FIND THEM.

I wish I had time to do this myself. People are afraid & lack of good info/data is partly causing that. As it is, I'm putting stuff on hold today just to get this typed. Many of you are equally busy. However, if we can drop in here and exchange/support, we can make a difference.

--Actually, I'm so ready to see this happen, I'm almost at the point of contacting the MSM to see if they won't pitch in...

Okay, maybe I'm not THAT desperate (they would pollute it and try to monetize the crap out of it!) but you get my drift? 😉

Thanks also to everyone who's begun retweeting the thread. It's definitely spreading, which suggests that people DO see some merit in the idea and hope to make it happen. but hey guys, it'll take more than hope, so let's keep this going.

The project is open to everyone who wishes to help make sure that Trump is NOT re-elected.
