Now imagine if Canadian border patrol captured these people, shoved them by the 100s into rooms meant to hold dozens. If they separated families and left babies and toddlers untended and uncared for on concrete floors. Imagine if they argued in court to prevent giving them soap.
Imagine if Justin Trudeau went around Canada calling these desperate people “an invasion” and “animals.” Imagine crowds coming to cheer this.

Imagine them infuriated by criticism of their camps, pretending outrage on behalf of those who had suffered even more, decades ago.
What an evil selfish anti-human people they’d be.

What a horrible country.

What a terrible reckoning they would’ve earned.

Never again is right now.

Jim Crow was VERY popular with a lot of people still alive today, many of whom had many children and grandchildren.
As a white kid watching a movie after movie in which Jim Crow etc was (rightfully) an assumed evil and its opponents assumed good, it was very easy for me to forget that the reason the heroes had institutionalized racism to contend with was because it was EXTREMELY popular.
The United States of America LOVED Jim Crow. It LOVED redlining. It LOVED segregation.

The only reason the past tense is even slightly appropriate isn’t because people stopped loving it.

It’s because we made it illegal and started publicly shaming people who loved it.

"The climate has always changed."

You must immediately say "No, we understand all observed warming is now human caused, overwhelming any natural changes."

You're confusing "weather" and "climate." The world as a whole is warming. One cold day in one place doesn't disprove global climate science.

 If they say "The scientists are only in it for the money" you have two choices:

Say either "Scientists get paid far less than fossil fuel lobbyists & climate deniers, & whatever they're paid has no effect on the validity of the science."
Or call me for a "Fuck you" response.
