I am having some thoughts about the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight adaptation I posted about earlier. Not bad thoughts, I should mention! Just some contemplations. So here's a super nerdy thread of me doing some medieval musing.
So Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is my absolute favorite medieval text. Gawain in general is my favorite knight, for many reasons (ask me if you want more nerdy gushing about Gawain). One of the reasons I love it is because it's such a rich text.
Plot-wise, SGGK really isn't that dense. Summary: An entity comes to challenge Arthur at Christmas to a behading game that is rigged in the entity's favor through magic. Gawain, being a good knight, takes his King's place in danger, and must suffer the trials put to him after.

So let me walk you through this hormone’s history & why the actual role of oxytocin is MUCH more interesting...
Oxytocin-like hormones are ~600 million years old, which is a LONG time before there was any evidence of “love”, or couple bonding. The sea sponge, considered the most ancient animal species, has no oxytocin-like signaling, suggesting it emerged in more modern species
The sea squirt, which is OLD but not as old as sea sponges, uses oxytocin-like signaling, but what’s its purpose if there’s there’s no sea squirt couple bonding?

2/ The talking point being spread among Dems is that “#ACA premiums will spike by double digits due to #ACASabotage!” The image which comes to mind is of rates increasing by ~20-25% with sabotage vs. perhaps ~5-10% without it, costing unsubsidized enrollees up to $1,000 more.
3/ Now the first part *is* accurate: #ACASabotage *is* causing premiums to increase an extra ~12% or so. However, the *specifics* are shaping up to be a bit different than I expected:
