Workshop on "The Role of Senior Educators in Preventing & Countering Extremism" commences in G. Dh. Thinadhoo. 34 participants from 11 schools in the atoll are attending this one-day workshop.
Minister of State for Education Ahmed Riyaz officiated the opening session. In his opening remarks, he mentioned the key role of senior educators in prevention of the spread of extremism and radicalization in school systems.
Director of NCTC also spoke at the opening session and highlighted our role in preventing extremism and violence. He called for #peace, #tolerance, and societal harmony.
Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa, officials from NCTC, and @PoliceMv will conduct the sessions in this workshop.
This #PVE workshop is held in collaboration with @EducationMV with assistance from @UNDPMaldives, @MofaJapan_en and @MNDF_Official’s Southern Area Command.
