Yet another reminder: wealthy parents consider public school assignments to convey with the houses they buy, in perpetuity. 
Also, wealthy people in the DC suburbs do not like having de facto segregation pointed out. How can it be racist if it's not, you know, *intentionally* racist on a personal level?
But bless the students who have raised this issue even as many parents fight hard not to address it.
