NYPD officers violently arrested two young Black men on minor misdemeanor charges, near a playground full of young children in Brooklyn on Friday.

One cop pinned down one of the young men by placing his knee on his head, while waving his gun around and pointing it at bystanders.
The Police Commissioner has justified the cop waving his gun around because "arrests don't look pretty" and the two men were "resisting arrest." nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-c…
No arrest - not even for murder - justifies putting bystanders lives in danger like this. These arrests were for petit larceny. We see cops use excessive force like this against our clients all the time. It is disgusting. Here, a cop is recklessly waving a gun around at children.
Second, the young man the cop had pinned to the ground was completely motionless. I was worried he was unconscious. He was NOT resisting. If you read the article, only one of the young men was even charged with resisting, & believe me, if cops can charge you with that, they will,
Policing in this city is out of control. Not only did this happen, but @NYPDONeill justified it. Remember @NYCMayor making all those wonderful statements about how progressive he is and police accountability in the presidential debates? What exactly was that based on?
Maybe @NYCMayor can talk about police deescalation training in the next debate and how pulling a gun and pointing It at bystanders and making this arrest in the first place makes New York City a better and safer place to live. We'll wait.
