Steve Smith is no doubt one of the most prolific and consistent batsmen in Cricket history

But his "secret sauce" is under analyzed

A closed face technique
Back-and across movement that practically eliminates the "outside edge" by getting inside the line of the ball
This is a technique reminiscent of the great Don Bradman himself - who had a similar closed face technique

Which was derided in his time. Yet worked exceptionally well
The Don in an interview he gave Ray Martin in 1996 elaborated on this aspect of his technique
So maybe Steve Smith is on to something with his remarkable technique

And his consistency is almost unparalleled in cricket history since the retirement of Bradman
This similarity in the technique of these two batsmen has gone completely unnoticed

It needs to be discussed more
