I AM ot going to stand by one moment & tolerate these calls for @GovernorWilder to resign. How soon we forget. Those of us who worked so hard to help Doug Wilder become the first AfricanAmerican elected Governor of ANY state in US & world by a predominantly white electorate.1)
2) That event did not simply make history, it CHANGED history. @BarackObama has said that without @GovernorWilder there would’ve been no President Obama. Women should be heard, &no one is beyond accountability, but why NOW? Who benefits?

3) The political climate among @vademocrats has changed for the worse over the last 5-6 years. I’ll note, I also opposed calls for @GovernorVA to resign. You don’t throw people away who have been iconic figures &/or who continue to serve the peple of Virginia.
