It starts with your car parking. Thy have provisioned for car parking, 5-6 KMs away from the city, with the proviso that buses will be arranged for the pilgrims, to the temple. However, our govt has forgotten the second part.

As a result Autos rule the roost.

One auto driver, charged 200 per person. Not 200 for the auto, but 200 per person to go from Temple to the Car parking area. And he took 5 people with him. A cool 1000 bucks for a 2.5 Km jouney. There is absolutely zero price control.

And you have no place for footwear

Assuming you have to walk from the car park, get into a bus, and then walk again, you need footwear. As a result people are buying those cheap 100 buck chappals and throwing them, just before they enter the temple.

Kanchipuram is filled with discarded chappals now.

And once you are out, if it is the afternoon. Be ready for a 5 Km Barefoot walk, in 40 degree weather. Because, you had to throw your chappal away.

And coming to the darshan itself. I am pretty sure Lord Varadarajan will be utterly pained to see the misery of his devotees

No water in the line. Police happily chatting with each other, or looking at the latest meme on Facebook. People blatantly misusing the queue meant for Senior Citizens & Mothers carrying infants, with six people accompanying one.

Depriving the actual citizens or infants

And the police have zero idea of crowd control. If you shove two lakh people, in a space meant for two cows, people will get angry. But police aggravate it further.

"Saamiya paakanum nu kashta patu dhaan aaganum madam" was a verbatim quote used by one guy.

And NO WATER and FAN

Yes, fan is provided for only about 100 Mts of the queue. Which starts from the east gate & ends in west. A total distance of 3 KMs.

Water is given out of jugs, in a steel glass, that too if you are at the right side of the line.

Even the tarpaulin was put up only two days ago

As a result, people faint. Yesterday In our line had 6 fainters. That was in the first half of the day. I don't what was the total day count, but I am pretty sure it will be in double digits.

And the darshan timings also are not fixed.

One day it starts at 6. The other day at 4:30 AM. One day it ends at 8. The other day at 10:00 PM. No one has a clue, till you reach Kanchipuram.

And the govt doesn't even have an excuse that It wasn't prepared. They had 40 years to prepare for this.

40 YEARS.

They could have asked TTD to help them out with the crowd management. They could have made the darshan open for 24 hours. Put in price controls on Autos, gotten more buses.

When EPS speaks, he has 4 vertical ACs and 6 coolers for his comfort.

Pilgrims deserve more than 40 fans

All in all, if you have a VIP ticket, go for it.

If you don't, Then pray to Lord Varadaraja from Home. I am sure, he is crying at how his devotees are being taken for a ride by an incompetent government.
