"I have yet to see a Wardley map that doesn't look like incomprehensible gibberish" - news.ycombinator.com/item?id=201912… ... that's a perfectly reasonable view. Like all maps they take some practice (we forget we learned Geographic maps as children) and they're imperfect.
I have friends who still struggle reading a geographic map ... it would be the height of arrogance to assume that we can make a map of business that everyone would instantly understand given that geography hasn't done this in a few thousand years.
The only measure that is worth considering is whether they're useful enough to enough people. Someone will, of course, make a better map.

Maps will evolve ... well, according to the map of mapping. Hence, to encourage this, I made the field open.
