JUST IN: Supreme Court says retired Justice John Paul Stevens, who left the bench in 2010, has died at the age of 99.
A news release from the court says Stevens died at a Ft. Lauderdale hospital from complications following a stroke he suffered yesterday.
Stevens, appointed by Republican Gerald Ford in 1975, became one of the court’s most reliable liberal votes. Well into his retirement, and as recently as this year, he aggressively advocated for a repeal of the 2nd Amendment.
Stevens was replaced on the bench by Justice Elena Kagan, who was appointed by Barack Obama in 2010.

The whistleblower complaint is dated Aug 12 -- two-and-a-half weeks after the Zelensky call.

The whistleblower says the call "deeply disturbed" the White House officials who told him about it, who said "they had witnessed the president abuse his office for personal gain."
"They told me that there was already a 'discussion ongoing' with White House lawyers about how to treat the call..." the whistleblower writes.
Democrats are sure to seek testimony of Kurt Volker (US envoy for Ukrainian negotiations) & Gordon Sondland (US Ambassador to the EU).

Whistleblower says both met w/Zelensky on July 26 & advised Ukrainian officials on how to "navigate" the demands Trump had made the day before.

BREAKING: In complaint to Congress, whistleblower claims Trump has been "using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election."
The whistleblower's name has been removed from the 9-page unclassified version of the complaint that has just been released by the House Intelligence Committee.
The complaint appears to be written by someone who knows how to write a legal document.

The individual complains about the July 25th call, which he(?) says he learned of from "multiple White House officials with direct knowledge of the call."

Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens has died. Justice Stevens began his time on the Court in support of capital punishment but became a death penalty opponent by the time of his retirement in 2010. Here are some of his memorable statements on the issue:
Justice Stevens voted with the majority in Gregg v. Georgia in 1976. This was the case that reinstated the death penalty nationwide after a four-year moratorium. After his retirement, Justice Stevens said this was the only vote he regretted in his 35 years on the Court.
In 2014, Justice Stevens wrote that he would like to add five words to the 8th Amendment in order to prohibit the death penalty: "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments *such as the death penalty* inflicted."

Let’s recap: Clinton and Soros linked lawyers attack Kavanaugh with everything they have, short of another Scalia-esque assassination. Then demand he swear to recuse himself for any issue that may come before him that involves Democrat ideology when he calls out their attacks.
In fact to provide air cover they use a retired Justice to launch this part of their campaign. Once again Democrats are proving why they are too dangerous to EVER regain power.

By raging he's being framed by a Clinton revenge plot conspiracy, Kavanaugh echoed Trump propagandists discrediting Mueller & Russia probe. That in itself is disqualifying from sitting on the Supreme Court. It also proves he won't be an impartial arbiter on those & other matters.
Forget the alleged sexual assault & lies for a moment. Kavanaugh's partisan rant about a left-wing smear conspiracy is so off-the-rails improper for someone whose job is literally to DISPASSIONATELY & fairly interpret facts & law before him. And he wants a promotion to SCOTUS??
Maybe #Kavanaugh's not a conspiracy theorist. But he is consciously echoing Trump. He altered strategy from choir-boy Fox interview b/c Trump didn't like it. Kav's already bending to the executive who named him, like the political operative he is at heart. And will be on SCOTUS.
