I don’t believe Assange is a journalist or a decent human being.
I’m retweeting this as an example of how even journalists work to overlook reality to comfort themselves. Because they are human.
If we responded in fear & avoidance to every situation indicating fear & avoidance are warranted, as a human race, we would be paralyzed, and soon die out as a species.
The Just World Fallacy allows individuals & society to create their own reality through perception and continue functioning as if no threat has been identified.
It is also what allows concentration camps where unrestricted horrors are committed. Victims are perceived to deserve the abuse.
It’s meant to provide bravery and courage when circumstances require it.
When teenagers do it, it’s called reckless or foolish. But it’s the same principle.
But the initial moon landing was a game of chicken played by political leaders in Russia and the US. The “race to the moon” it was called.
However, perceptual manipulation imposed by others is a dangerous weapon & is humanity’s greatest threat to itself.
The malevolent manipulation of perception has resulted in disasters that are consciously avoided from personal & collective acknowledgement.
It’s given humanity genocide, unjust war, slavery, systemic poverty, racism & unjust persecution.
Those with malevolent intent have been abusing the phenomenon for eons.
Modern technology has enabled those with malicious intent to manipulate perception through MSM & SM.
Politics is perception.
Awareness of difficult truth requires diligence, persistence & real courage to look not only in the mirror, but for the real purpose of what any politician promises.
Truth is an acknowledgment of threats. No matter how frightening they are.
Real courage is acknowledging the level of threat Canada is currently in, responding to that threat with your vote, and speaking reality & truth to power.
