One really starts to get the feeling that conservative nationalists don't like libertarians very much.

Me, a libertarian: "My side has no power and if we did our grand plan is to leave everybody alone FWIW."

You, a nationalist conservative: "We must declare INDEPENDENCE from the TOTALITARIANISM of INDIVIDUAL CHOICE and MODERNITY and... SEX TOYS... and... STUFF."

Me, weird and bad: "Uber is really convenient. I love the new scooters everywhere."

You, good and normal: "We shall REJECT the TYRANNY of the COSMOPOLITAN ELITES and their WORSHIP of PROFITS and OPEN BORDERS."

Me, deranged: "The U.S. is far from perfect, but it's great that we have restraints on big government."

You, reasonable, definitely not sounding like Bane or anything: "We shall SWEEP ASIDE the DEAD CONSENSUS of SELF-ACTUALIZATION, a form of SLAVERY."

Me, naive: "Free markets and free trade have made us pretty prosperous, no?"

You, clear-sighted: "We must FIGHT. Those who DISAGREE shall be CRUSHED. Let not their WEAKNESS, their NAYSAYING, distract us. Against DAVID FRENCH, we RISE."
