0/ I love the concept of a personal regret minimization framework. Bezos used his to decide whether to start Amazon, and mine has been instrumental in every major life decision to date:
1)When thinking about a new opportunity, consider how rare this one is. How likely you are you to have a chance like this in the future? If it's a rare opp, prioritize it now. (i.e. chance to start a company w someone brilliant you admire & respect is RARE)
2) If you're in any position to, invest in your friends' companies. You'll feel like an idiot if they end up being successful and you didn't Plus, hopefully you have smart friends, and it's also great to support them.
3) If you're young, have no debts, and no dependents, make some asymmetric investments bets –– even with small amounts of money. If you're right, it'll pay off in a major way, and if you're wrong, you'll be able to make up for it. Mine was bitcoin.
4) Don't delay spending time with people you love until you're "successful enough". People get sick, die. Babies grow up. You won't get that time back and that is a regret you may hold on to forever.
4)(continued) I personally struggle with this one a lot, but this article really hammered it home for me:

5) If you hate your job, leave. Life's too short, and I think people who aren't miserable are generally more productive and better contributors to the world. You deserve to be happy!
6)Lastly, put yourself in the way of interesting people and things. Work hard, but leave a little bit of space for randomness. Most of my most pivotal life and career moments came because I was out meeting people, not holed up in an office 100% of the time.
