1. ZANU PF people never learn. The political reforms we insist on will help them too. Prisca Mupfumira is being denied bail on the basis of an unconstitutional law. But when we asked for realignment of legislation to the Constitution she quiet. Probably thought we were mad.
2. We tell them to use resources to fix prisons & detention centres so that they are suitable for human habitation. They build mansions, never imagining they might one day be guests of the state in those inhumane facilities. When we ask for reforms & they think we are a nuisance
3. Mupfumira’s case presents a moral dilemma to the opposition. On one hand if there’s mistreatment that’s an internal matter between her & her ZANU PF colleagues. On the other hand, you know if they can do that to one of their own they will probably do worse to you & justify it
4. But people have been hurt by ZANU PF for so long they no longer take kindly to any attempts to defend ZANU PF leaders who are mistreated by their own comrades. The fact is it doesn’t matter whether or not Mupfumira is mistreated, ZANU PF will always mistreat opposition leaders
5. And you know for sure that if an opposition leader is mistreated, as Sikhala was recently, not a single ZANU PF leader will stand up & say it’s wrong. They are indifferent. Would indifference when they mistreat each other mean the opposition is turning into its opponent?
6. I don’t think so. Even animals in the jungle have to understand & navigate their ecosystem. If a zebra sees two lions fighting, she might be appalled by the sight of it, but she knows for certain that once they stop fighting they will both come after her & have her for dinner.
