A thread of popular YouTube/Reddit/ random internet dudebro talking points and their translations in plain English for the benefit of Nigerians who are new to the scene and make the hilarious/tragic mistake of thinking themselves to be protagonists in these narratives.

"Islam is a threat to Western civilisation."
Translation: We don't want to live and work with brown people, including Sikhs, Hindus, muslims and Africans. Edin Dzeko (Bosnian Muslim) is not a "threat" but Sadiq Khan (Pakistani-British Muslim) is.

"Neoliberalism has failed."

Translation: Free trade and global competition have forced us to compete against immigrants and foreign labour because the colonial empire model of economics no longer exists.

We want to set the clock back 200 years so we can be top dogs once again.

"This is not racism. It's Race Realism."

Translation: "Open racism is no longer socially acceptable, so we'll couch the same old white supremacist rhetoric in fake science, cliches and verbose nonsense to make it sound "intellectual."

"Facts don't care about your feelings."

Translation: Using a mixture of cherry picked and context-stripped facts along with carefully selected lies and distortions, I can make any argument at all, and you can't debunk it because I used "facts."

"Liberals and immigrants are destroying the fabric of [insert Western country]."

Translation: This was once an exclusively white country. I object to the existence of immigrants and the politicians who make their presence possible.

Nigerians regularly facing racism in Western countries only to retreat to YouTube everyday and cosign Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson.
