MISPLACED REVOLUTION

By Dele Ajaja Former TELL Magazine journalist and exiled co-publisher of the defunct JUNE 12 Magazine

You may not agree with this piece 100% but it is worth reading.

Summary of it all - Revolution ko revolution ni

“Many of us (activists and progressives) have talked about REVOLUTIONS at some points in the past. Ostensibly, those uprisings didn’t happen because a lot of Nigerians were pleased with the unethical culture – and didn’t want to affront the status quo - Dele Ajaja
If revolutions happened for noble reasons, the most auspicious period for one to happen in Nigeria was the ‘ALL-YOU-CAN-STEAL-BUFFET’ era of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and the larcenous members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who raided the nation mercilessly. D Ajaja
Any call for a revolution now that the government is lessening the no-holds-barred raiding of the country is STARTLING, RECKLESS, and REPREHENSIBLE. - Dele Ajaja
It is true that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have been slacking – they have been in power, but have allowed the traitorous PDP to dictate the nation’s politics. Dele Ajaja
Initially, PDP chieftains believed that President Buhari & APC would send them to prison, after unravelling the epic fraud committed by PDP. The president & APC acted like they were treading on egg-shells, and didn’t want to break anything, during their early years in power.
Thus, the brash members of the PDP became emboldened, and started insulting and assaulting President Buhari and his party. Now, PDP is no longer acting alone, they are hiring ‘revolutionaries,’ from INSIDE and OUTSIDE, to destabilize the nation. - Dele Ajaja
It is EQUITABLE to argue that PresBuhari and the APC have taken Nigeria back from unconscionable exploitation, and continue to fight the agitated bull (corruption) in the nation’s china shop. Regrettably, the president and his party have a couple of ACHILLES’ HEELS. - Dele AJaja
The govt’s Ministry of Information has been too dormant – it appears like a non-existing parastatal sometimes. Nigerians hear more about the government policies on social media than what those who speak for the government put out there. - Dele Ajaja
Consequently, social media define, colour, and shape what they want people to know about the government and its activities. GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES DON’T HAPPEN, UNLESS THE PEOPLE ARE DULY INFORMED ABOUT THEM. Whoever sits on faeces for long contends with different kinds of flies.
President Buhari and the APC should start making SWIFT decisions on national issues, and the government needs VIVACIOUS mouthpieces.” – DELE AJAJA
