I don't know about the rest of u but it's been two days and I'm already bored as hell over the gun debate. Its the same debate time after time. Not many are talking about those that died. They are just using them as political talking points. Real people died, real families mourn.
The "muh we are all doomed, guns" crowd are out in force. The left are unable to see any problem but "guns". The right are dug in on "guns" but are open to looking at other potential causes. Trump tried to bridge the divide today and he was met with hate from the left.
Many things will have to change for any progress to be made on this problem and I don't see many addressing those needed changes. Dealing with "guns" is like dealing with a rash while the infection continues to grow. There might be some field dressings put on by politicians...
...to hide the contagion but it won't change much in the short term. So we can continue to debate this issue or we can mourn with the victims and families impacted. Maybe we can use this time to do some soul searching and decide if we want to make the changes society needs.
Personally, I think some are too invested in their hate to ever change but we can't listen to the haters. I see a better day ahead because I don't think people will just sit around and watch their world burn and more are starting to understand the underlying issues.
