How are we on the verge of a no deal?

Because the no dealers are willing to do absolutely anything necessary to obtain it. Its opponents aren’t.

Ultimately, even now, three years on, the Leavers are embarrassingly better at politics than remainers.
In essence: it turns out a govt can be surprisingly powerful if they’re willing to set fire to the constitution to get what they want. As outrageous as that might be, unless remainers are willing to come up with a countermove as dramatic, they might as well pack up and go home.

NEW: internal docs from Dept for Environment reveals govt cannot cannot guarantee protection of UK territorial waters after a no deal Brexit as we only have *12* vessels to monitor “a surface area three times the size of the UK”. Nothing to stop EU fishermen continuing to fish.
"We are not on an overly strong footing" to rebut the claims that the govt "is not in a strong position to sufficiently enforce our waters if we do leave the EU without a deal" the document says.

No wonder with only 12 ships...
This perfectly encapsulates the problem with the rhetoric around "preparing" for no deal we've heard from the govt. The problem is there are lots of things you simply can't prepare for, especially with time constraints.

No way govt can acquire more vessels before November.

Leaving aside the fact this would be constitutionally improper, it is a strategic mistake by Number 10. If Corbyn holds the line that he will support no other PM designate it presents MPs who oppose no deal with mother choice but to make JC prime minister so as to extend A50.
I’m also not sure as to the strategic or political wisdom of holding an election in the *exact* period where disruption is at its maximum. If I were Johnson and this were Cummings’ advice, I’d wonder what he cared about more. The purest form of Brexit possible or my premiership.
I’d want to fight an election on a parliament trying to thwart Brexit prospectus. Otherwise, what would the election be about, exactly? The domestic issues where the Tories trail Labour?

After Jim Callaghan lost a confidence vote in 1979 this was the exchange he had with Margaret Thatcher, then Leader of the Oppostion. If a govt loses the confidence of the House they should not do anything controversial until an election or without support of the Opposition.
You might say that given Parl has made no deal the legal default that is the precedent and the govt ought not change it in that period. some credibility to that. But:

-Parl has repeatedly voted in opposition to no deal since
-it is clearly a matter of *enormous* controversy.
Seems to me then if no new govt can be formed precedent would suggest the election itself must resolve the matter, which would be impossible if the election were scheduled after we leave.

Let’s very briefly explain that and then I’ll start the intro
So, the first thing to know about this book is that all of its sources are known liars. Steve Bannon features prominently. The staffers that were allowed to remain anonymous still worked in this White House, and that tells you about their respect for reality versus spin.
Second thing is that Wolff isn’t particularly well known for his unrelenting sourcing and meticulous retellings. Mostly he’s the most accessy of access journos, by which I mean usually you don’t get invited to see the sausage being made if they don’t want or need you to.

My parents fled Uzbekistan because of the rampant anti-semitism, and took me and my brother to the United States of America. We came here as refugees, and were taken in and provided for by the local Jewish Community Center. 1/11

He opens the closet and finds their bags with their wallets inside. It means the other only has his phone with him.

And he's not answering any calls and texts.

He's seriously getting worried.
If before, he could contact his cousin and ask of his whereabouts, right now he doesn't have anyone to turn to.

Just then the door opens, revealing a drenched Kyungsoo. The younger just stands there, at the doorway with a bashful smile.

"What happened to you? Why are you wet?"
