A oracle network is an essential component of stablecoin design. The smart contracts that comprise stablecoin protocols are only as effective as the price data that informs their behavior, so getting this area of development right is of critical importance.

Why Reserve vs a digital USD
Right now Reserve is pegged to the dollar to keep the stability but in phase 3 of the project the coin will no longer be pegged to the US dollar itself but still keep a 1 USD value, they accomplish this by backing the coin with real-world assets...

...most of which will be tokenized (i.e. bonds, property and commodities), making it decentralized vs. centralized (pegged to the US dollar). And the added benefit is, as Fiat currencies fluctuate in value, the Reserve coin will keep a true $1 of purchasing power globally.

Being close to the POTUS risked criticism from colleagues, but working with the POTUS & co-advising with former SEC commissioner, Paul Atkins, is very tactful and key to the success of the Reserve project. Ensuring the green light from regulators and the best chance for adoption.
