TRUTH IN PARENTING

Criticizing the parent is untruth

Criticizing the child is untruth.

Prioritizing one over the other is untruth

Controlling is untruth

Giving unbridled freedom is untruth.

Each of these is a Reaction.
Trying to be unkind is untruth

Trying to be strict is untruth.

Trying to be a parent is untruth

Trying to be a friend is untruth.

These are based upon a need.
A parent has a child

He sees not his own self in him.

He sees the blood relation as biological

Without the least bit of ownership.

This is Truth.
The parent seeks not to teach

He seeks to learn.

What he seeks to learn are the faces of his own ego

Without condemnation or blame.

For in recognizing them,

He does not succumb to them.

This is Truth.
If the parent knows that things will not turn out his way

And if he also knows that his way is both pure and impure,

Wise and unwise,

He will not become attached to his way

And he will not view himself has humble for having become detached from it.

This is Truth.
The parent becomes the teaching

And forgets that there is anyone to teach.

This is Truth.
Coming to the realization that the child cannot give him anything at all

Coming to the realization that he will be in the child's life for a while,

And then he will be gone.

This is Truth.
Having no need to make a child this or that

And becoming so lost in the devotion of perfecting himself,

Messages need not be spoken

Teachings need not be delivered.

For wisdom is best delivered through Silence

And Truth, through Dispassion.

Namaste.
