My first presidential address to the @MineralAreaCC faculty and staff went very well! Such great people to work with, I can't wait to meet them all. I was able to present my vision for the future of MAC today and some of my key points are in this thread, enjoy! #POMAC

@MineralAreaCC Salary Equity

Making a basic cost-of-living increase each year a priority goes a long way in valuing people. Money doesn't equal happiness in employment, but feeling valued does. Knowing your place of employment cares enough to make this a priority is priceless. #POMAC

@MineralAreaCC Accessibility and Tuition

Currently, @MineralAreaCC has one of the lowest tuition rates in the state. This is important for accessibility of our low income region and helping students leave without debt.

If there is one place in the USA that should be welcoming to EVERYONE, it is a #CommunityCollege. We must be inclusive of all backgrounds & help all succeed.

@MineralAreaCC Service Area

@MineralAreaCC serves 28 school districts in 16 counties in SE Missouri. Many of them in low income areas that deserve our attention. We must be partners with these service regions and dedicate ourselves to the educational needs of the region.

We will focus on a state of the art facility right here on the @MineralAreaCC campus that will be a hub for workforce development and training for the service region. This will take time but this is a priority.

@MineralAreaCC General Education/Transfer

We already know @MineralAreaCC students perform better at their transfer institutions than native students to that school. We can use this information and creative partnerships to establish pathways for all our students who wish to transfer.

Athletic expansion is crucial for enrollment increase and access to college. Soccer is a popular sport with a lot of local demand and E-Sports is an exciting new field that our education partners are begging us to begin. @MineralAreaCC can benefit from both.

WE know @MineralAreaCC is a great place to work, it's time the world does too. This can be done through national presentations, nominating colleagues and students for awards, recognition in the @chronicle Great College To Work For survey.

2022 is the 100th Anniversary of Flat River Junior College/@MineralAreaCC. We are going to throw a party like never before! Third oldest #CommunityCollege in Missouri.

Upon review of our service region and capacity of @MineralAreaCC, I believe ideal enrollment is about 5000. It will take time but we can reach this through stronger outreach to our service area, dual credit expansion, workforce development, and more!

Already cabinet notes are sent out to all employees, increased social media communication ;), and an open door policy are just some of the ways we can be more transparent and open. We are all in this together!
