Please, please, any parents worried about vaccinating your kids - chat to your nurse or doctor. Measles isn't benign. It can cause permanent brain damage and it can kill. Last year, there were 74 measles deaths in Europe. *Please* don't let your son or daughter be one of them.
I'm an NHS doctor. I've never accepted a pound from a drug company. I didn't hesitate to protect my kids with vaccinations. And I feel so incredibly lucky to live in a time when my children won't be left brain-damaged or dead by measles.
I wrote a piece about the risks of not vaccinating your children here. It includes links to reliable evidence from the NHS about vaccination.

Perhaps most sickening of all is the knowledge that Johnson *knows* how gravely No Deal jeopardises patients - and he simply doesn't give a damn. He will posture, bellow & spin, while fully aware patients' lives hang in the balance.

And keeping MPs & public wholly in the dark.

If you have a child that is
Not eating,
Has high fever,
Has a rash/spots,

If you put a glass on the spots and it does not fade, go to the hospital ASAP.

The child may have sepsis or meningitis (an infection of the brain cover). If nothing is done, that child can die in hours.
So let’s talk a little about meningitis

What’s meningitis?
Meningitis is an infection of the protective covers that surround the brain and spinal cord (meninges)

Who can be affected?
It can affect anyone, but affects mostly babies, young children, teenagers and young adults.
So what symptoms can it give?

high fever
cold hands/feet
vomiting
confusion
fast breathing
muscle/joint pain
mottled or blotchy skin
spots/rash
headache
stiff neck
not wanting bright lights
being very sleepy
fits (seizures)
tiredness
not eating well

These are quite common.

IF you have a baby (or you visit a new mom at home) and you notice the baby’s eyes and skin looks very yellow, please take the child to a hospital.

Jaundice in a newborn can cause death and permanent irreversible brain damage if nothing is done quickly.

Better safe than sorry.
Especially if it’s first day of life (or after 2-3 weeks of life), male baby, premature or breastfed baby.

Jaundice may be normal if it starts on the second day of life and resolved by end of the week or within ten days.

But visible jaundice on first day of life is dangerous.
Jaundice (yellowing of the skin/eyes) usually point to a breakdown of the red blood cells. This can be because of a serious infection, low blood levels or some other serious medical problems.

However what happens is that this breakdown of red blood cells cause bilirubin buildup.

Sickle cell was discovered over 100 years ago and receives little research, funding and attention.
Sickle cell disease primarily affects those of African and Caribbean descent but the trait has also been found in those with Middle Eastern, Indian, Latin American, American Indian, and Mediterranean heritage.
So it goes to show why they really do not care

Measles has killed human beings for a really long time. It's a dreaded disease.
Measles is survivable. But it was still deadly in large unprotected populations.
