I was the first to break news of the accident. I said it occurred because a bicyclist swerved to avoid an antifa protester. Turns out he had actually collided into her & fell. Mea culpa. I issued a clarification previously. The woman was part of the day’s protest.
For the record, here was my original tweet which broke news of the accident. I have deleted it since there was no swerving. I stand by the rest.
Portland Police has sent me a response clarifying what they meant when they said the accident was “unrelated to the protest.” @wweek & others jumped the gun by interpreting it to mean something else. The woman on the scooter was an antifa protester part of the street occupation.
Twitter verified journalist.
A journalist witnessed the accident & backs up my claim the woman was indeed part of the day’s protests & antifa street occupation. Not that this matters anyway to my detractors. They can’t admit that antifa’s extremism causes injury to innocent people.
