The “Till Report” was the only official British investigation into the #CapArcona tragedy. One of Till’s conclusions suggested “primary responsibility for the great loss of life must fall on the British RAF Personnel who failed to pass on vital information to the pilots” (2)
However, his report also felt that “it is strongly urged that an official enquiry be held by the responsible authority into this failure to pass vital information, as none has taken place”. Yet his recommendations were never acted on. #CapArcona
Yet, official records show Investigations were extremely thorough in determining the effects of certain types of rocket projectiles in sinking German tonnage in the final weeks of the war. The 60lb RP was was not a standard anti-shipping weapon. This was normally a 25lb RP. (4)
