Boris Johnson just lost his vote, his majority, and soon maybe even his residence at Number 10, but folks are still clinging to “Yeah but Theresa May was *uniquely* awful.”

Why is it men can just be plain “awful” (& get a pass anyway), but women are always “uniquely awful”? 🤔
People insisted on describing Hillary Clinton as “uniquely awful” to explain 2016, too, partly to avoid dealing with the misogyny that colored so much of 2016. No, it wasn’t misogyny—she was just “uniquely” awful.

Women are just all uniquely bad, I guess.
This isn’t a defense of Theresa May, btw, and I’m not taking a position on whether or not she was awful.

It’s the “uniquely” part that makes me 🤔
