My white friend adopted a black baby girl & I gave him some hair tips. He just texted me a pic of a style he did & thanked me so now I’m like 😭😭😭. All I ever want is to make things a little easier for kids like me: black, queer, girl, etc.
Seriously, if you are a white person with a child of color, PLEASE consult with people of color on hair care & other racial issues. Give your kids connections to other POCs. It can be a psychic lifesaver.
Addendum: Don’t ask random people of color! Ask your POC friends if you have them and they are willing or go to a POC salon and PAY someone to teach you.

Just booked flight & @Airbnb for #Vegas in Jan w/ my 3 best friends from college. They’re all MDs, married w/ 1-2 kids. I’m a university professor w/ a book & a cat. We met as young women of color on the same full tuition scholarship living in the Honors dorm at @miamiuniversity.
I’ve always been the odd man out in our group: only non-premed/med school/doctor, only queer one, only one not interested in kids or marriage. But somehow our friendship has lasted over a 15 years. This will be the first time we’ve all been together in the same space in 5 years.
I’ve seen them all individually (we live in four different time zones across the US), but it’s been impossible to plan a weekend away as we all finished school/residences, moved multiple times, had babies, got new jobs, etc. I’m excited & emotional about all being together.

Acknowledging and apologizing for the harm my tweet could have created. I was frustrated with a specific situation that was causing me anxiety. To be clear: “Get your shit together” from me, is never a call for perfection or independence from anyone.
For me, saying that in regards to planning is recognize your strengths & weakness & ask for help. Communicate to your friends and guests. For the situation I was in I offered to help weeks ago & got no response so I was very frustrated.
Lack of sense of what will occur causes me high anxiety. I spent hours before the party talking to friends and partners trying to calm down and trust that things would be ok.

1. Don't hold phone loosely in your hand on road facing side while walking. Avoid using SM apps on road.
2. Walk on footpaths, not on roads. Use headphone, Bluetooth, keep phone in trouser side packet. 3. Don't use phone while driving. Park n use.

shiro and Keith are high school sweethearts. They’re everything every high school power couple wishes they could be - Keith is the star of the soccer team, Shiro is the student body president. They’re both at the top of their class and very clearly in love.
one problem - shiro is one year above keith, a senior when keith's a junior. it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but to high school keith and shiro, it feels like the end of the world.

💭 Most shocking moment so far in the @Hulk 2008 is @LivTyler dating the dad from Modern Family.

Also as much as I like Edward Norton I’m just picturing @MarkRuffalo in my head and this movie is even better.

1. I forgot how we used to talk about Marvel movies being “grounded” or “realistic” especially when it comes to color pallete and portrayal of characters or events.

The colors in Black Panther and Thor 3 have come a long way since 2008.
