An outrageous libel by a dangerously stupid and bigoted reactionary.

This slur was a response to Caroline Goodwin QC remarking, in her weekly email to members of the Criminal Bar Association, that the rule of law is vital.

This pure molten idiocy is what we’re up against.
This reprehensible nincompoop has form. She called for independent judges to be “sacked” for doing their jobs.

Her demagoguery strikes at the heart of our country’s first principles.
I could not be prouder to be part of a profession that counts among its members people of the calibre and integrity of Caroline Goodwin QC.

I bet every penny I will ever earn that not a single person will ever say that in sincerity about @SuzanneEvans1.

And so continues the Prime Minister’s campaign to toughen up the criminal law by, err, making it exactly the same.

Murderers of children are already liable to receive whole life tariffs. It’s in Schedule 21 para 4(2)(b) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
Meanwhile, the real problems, such as the fact that cases are currently taking quite literally YEARS to come to trial, due to massive cuts to the police, CPS and courts, are ignored. The government continues to close courts and cut court sitting days, making things even worse.
An important thread by @Barristerblog adding further to this story and the likely consequences. Also an important amendment - I was wrong to say that the law on child murderers would remain “exactly” the same. I should have said “substantially” the same.

I dunno, it just seems that for a song titled “All About You”, there’s a fair bit of self-entitlement and solipsism going on here.

Obviously fascinating stuff, but the ultimate decision will come when the Supreme Court hears the appeal. That’s when things could get properly tasty.

Do you think this FOIA essentially confirmed Andrew McCabe’s lies @sethjlevy?
I honestly don’t know how anyone could read that FOIA, see the Trump Appointees that we’re involved in responding to McCabe’s lies and then say that the FOIA confirms McCabe’s lies. Just plain ignorant.
Here is President Trump responding to McCabe’s lies against Rosenstein months ago. Trump said in this clip, “Rosenstein did not say that, he says he does not believe that and by the way no one in this room believes that.”
