Meanwhile, the real problems, such as the fact that cases are currently taking quite literally YEARS to come to trial, due to massive cuts to the police, CPS and courts, are ignored. The government continues to close courts and cut court sitting days, making things even worse.
An important thread by @Barristerblog adding further to this story and the likely consequences. Also an important amendment - I was wrong to say that the law on child murderers would remain “exactly” the same. I should have said “substantially” the same.
